An Introduction to Computer - For complete beginners
A basic introduction to computers explaiing what a computer is, what it does and does not do.
- See what's inside the box and hear a simplified version of what the parts are for and what you can do with them.
- Have the screen display explained, the layout, tool bars and icons.
- Come to terms with the mouse
- Learn about the filing system, and how to find the documents you want.
- Try your hand at a simple document.

Word Processing - For complete beginners
Learn the basics of word processing.
At the end of this course you will be able to:
- Switch on the computer
- Start up the word processing program
- Understanding the layout of the screen
- Understand what the menus and icons are for
- Set up a page ready for your work
- Type in the necessary text for your document
- Rearrange the text so that it looks good
- Check the spelling and correct mistakes
- Add or delete text, or move it to a different place
- Proof read your document
- Print your document

Digital Photography for Beginners
Learn the basics of Adobe Photoshop Elements.
At the end of this course you will be able to:
- Take photographs using a digital camera
- Understand the different functions on digital cameras
- Understanding the menus and tools in Photoshop
- Edit your photographs on the computer
- Save your photographs on the computer
- Print your own photographs without leaving the room
- Place your photographs on the internet for friends and family to view
- Design your own photograph album

At the end of this course you will be able to:
- Manipulate your photographs using a variety of tools in Photoshop
- Create a professional online gallery of your images
- Create a professional Photography portfolio
- Use Photoshop as a professional Digital Darkroom

Summer Drop In
The community centre I.T Suite will be opned as a drop in centre throughout the Summer to allow the general public to use the Internet access for research and checking email.
The centre will be open at the following times:
- Wednesday 10am to 1pm
- Wednesday 2pm to 5pm
- Wednesday 6pm to 9pm
A charge of:
- £1.50 Per half hour for adults
- £1.50 per 2 hours for children
